Hand Wiring

    • Each amp is hand wired on vulcanized fiber tag board insuring durability
    • solid cloth covered wire like the original (as opposed to stranded plastic coated wire) -- a must for a vintage, sweet tone
    • Outstanding wiring techniques for a neat and clean look, less hum and less noise

Cabinet

    • Finger jointed solid pine
    • Strong, durable
    • Great natural resonance
    • Hand Varnished Airplane luggage stripped Linen ( the exact material used for the original tweeds) for a natural vintage looking and feel, durable, washable

Chassis

    • High grade Stainless Steel screws
    • High grade Stainless Steel aircraft locking nuts for less vibration
    • Industrial quality glass filled tube sockets, no rattling noise like NOS style counterparts. Tubes can be inserted and removed thousand of times
    • All grounds are done with 18 gauge stranded wire, translating in LESS HUM, LESS NOISE

Resistors

    • High quality Carbon composition, important ones are usually NOS Allen Bradley or Riken Ohm (Made in Japan) high precision, gold plated copper leads.
    • Each resistor individually measured before wiring to insure exacting tolerances
    • Low noise
    • High temperature tolerance
    • Extreme reliability
    • Warm sound -- unlike metal or carbon film resistors

Capacitors

    • High quality Copper Foil (Made in Denmark) or Solen Fast (made in France) coupling & decoupling caps
    • Sprague Electrolytic Sprague or  CDE (made in USA) for filtering caps
    • highest quality and durability
    • High quality caps are a key ingredient to the vintage tone
    • All caps are formed slowly with a variac for stability and less noise

Power Transformers (by Mercury Magnetics in California)

    • Highest quality transformers made by Mercury Magnetics
    • Hand wound, paper interleaved
    • Period correct voltages -- no cold, harsh, high plate voltages
    • Center tapped filament -- no heater hum
    • Available in 220V / 240 V / 100 V

Output Transformers (by Mercury Magnetics in California)

    • Highest quality transformers made by Mercury Magnetics
    • Manufactured using the actual Triad engineering data
    • Hand wound, paper interleaved on paper bobbins
    • High efficiency
    • Rich harmonics - astounding tone
    • Built to last forever
    • Tremendous bottom end, shimmering highs, a lot of headroom

Testing

  • Every component (resistor, capacitor, pots, etc.) is tested before installation
  • Every soldered connection is tested
  • Voltage checkpoints are verified throughout the circuit
  • I test every amplifier for a substantial amount of time (sometimes it's hard to stop playing ...) and listen for potential rattling, vibrations sweeping frequencies with an audio signal generator

Speakers

    • Jensen reissue P10R AlNiCo are standard
    • Celestion, Eminence, Weber and other speakers are available upon request.
